On This Date in 1973: 'You're So Vain,' by Carly Simon, grabs the No. 1 position on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles chart. The Almanac Advises for January 6: "Sigmund Freud pioneered the term 'narcissism,' which refers to a pathological level of self-regard. Most people with narcissistic personality disorder turn inward for gratification rather than seeking it from others."
